KK Line Revitalization Project
ーWhat is the KK Line?
The KK Line is an approximately 2-kilometer-long expressway and 14 rental spaces integrated with the road, which began full operation in July 1966. Tokyo Expressway Co., Ltd., a private company, built the road facilities on public land, operating under a pioneering infrastructure model that involves private sector involvement, often associated with PFI (Private Finance Initiative).
ーWhat is the KK Line Revitalization Project?
The KK Line, which has grown with the community, is transforming from a vehicle-only expressway that connects central Tokyo into a pedestrian-focused public space. This redesigned area will be a welcoming, green space where anyone can enjoy spending time in the heart of the city. It aims to become a symbol of green infrastructure that connects people, communities, and the environment, adding new value and appeal to Tokyo.
ーWhat is the Co-creating Platform?
The Co-Creation Platform in the KK Line Revitalization Project is designed to generate new value by engaging experts from various fields. It facilitates collaboration with organizations like the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and local community groups, providing opportunities for “co-creation” among diverse stakeholders. This platform actively integrates the outcomes of these collaborations into the project.
