Tokyo Expressway Company: Revitalization of the Tokyo Expressway (KK Line) – Project Design and Related Activities

May 07, 2025

The KK Line Regeneration Project aims to transform the Tokyo Expressway (commonly known as the KK Line), which has long functioned as urban infrastructure in close relationship with the local community, from an automobile-only roadway running through the heart of Tokyo into a pedestrian-centered public space, while making effective use of its existing structures.

Seiichi Saito, founder of Panoramatiks, joined the KK Line Regeneration Project in April 2024. In May 2024, he was appointed Conductor of the Co-Creation Platform established to regenerate the Tokyo Expressway, a role in which he facilitates and harmonizes collaborative efforts among a wide range of stakeholders.

In this context, Panoramatiks is responsible for the following aspects of the project:
1. Project design for the Co-Creation Platform
2. Communication design
3. Archive (documentation) direction
